PH15 to feature on Grand Designs

July, 2025 |
Work has finally begun on a Para 80e (now Para 84e) new build in North Somerset after over three years of negotiations with planners over the design and positioning of the wedge shape home. The striking shape has the intension of maximising the south facing roof area to provide space for an extensive PV system as the project is aiming for the Passivhaus Premium standard.
The building is set into the sloped site with entry via a lightweight steel bridge at first floor level with a series of garden terraces and steps leading down to the ground floor where a pond and natural swimming pool reach right up to the house.
A smaller wedge shaped building accessed from the upper levels forms a work space with the green roof meadow merging into the landscape.
The wider site is used as a community garden and orchard separated from the private gardens by a wildlife meadow and ponds.
The build is being followed by the team from Channel 4 Grand Designs and should be shown at some point in 2026.
