Designed for economy

Every PH15 is designed to make your heating bills as low as possible. We do this by focusing on the fabric of the building. By getting this right, these savings can be enjoyed indefinitely. It is even possible to generate an energy income from your home.

Current studies show the additional cost of passivhaus compared to business as usual is between 4-8%. PH15 costs around 2-6% extra (6% with our highest quality windows). Engaging with us early pushes costs down!

By minimising the heating load many thousands of pounds can be saved up front as the size of heating systems can be scaled right down. In some instances simple all electric panel heaters can be used with further savings in the maintenance costs that can be associated with more complex solutions like heat pumps and under floor heating.

PH15 also minimises the amount of on site renewable generation required for NetZero Carbon in use and avoids over demand on a future de-carbonised national grid.

Using our complete system enables the best cost optimisation.

By focusing on the fabric, you can enjoy in-built energy savings indefinitely

PH15 can save you costs at the design stage too

Integrating passivhaus design from the start of a project can encourage SMART decisions that could save 5-15% of the contract sum. Using a tried and tested system like PH15 can also limit complexity in design and construction.

PH15 includes building energy modelling (PHPP) and ventilation strategy which means savings can be made on external M&E consultants.

PH15 includes an engineering pack for all the above ground works providing savings on engineer’s fees for detail design, specification & calculations.

PH15 includes construction details, Psi value calculation for PHPP and standard psi calculations for SAP giving further savings from outside consultants
