Why choose PH15?
If you are at the start of the process of building your own home, whether you are self commissioning or intending to roll up your sleeves and get hands on, PH15 can deliver for you. The award winning PH15 System delivers a complete thermal and air-tight shell simply and cost effectively.
PH15 is cut off site and delivered flat-packed to be assembled on site by your chosen team of carpenters. By being stick-built it avoids the need for expensive cranage to erect and can be used on sites too constricted to allow cranes to operate. This also makes it buildable by the fully hands-on self-builder1.
PH15 is a complete package which includes not just the fully engineered timber frame but the windows and ventilation system optimised in one package to deliver Passivhaus performance. Have a look at the PH15 System page to see more detail on what is included.

Why choose PH15?
Usually pulling all the technical elements of the build together would fall to the architect or home builder. With PH15 you can benefit from our years of experience and have all of the technical requirements to meet the Passivhaus standard included. This saves you money.
We provide a design stage PHPP and do a Part O and F2 check for building control. We design the MVHR system to meet the requirements of both Passivhaus and Part F. We provide two air tightness tests, the first mid-build to check you are on course to pass and the second at completion, as a compliance test, a requirement of both Passivhaus and Building Regs.
Once installed we also commission the MVHR system to ensure it is performing as intended. Upon completion we provide you with a guide to ensure you continue to get the best out of your new home.
2 Part O – preventing over-heating in new builds. Part F – ventilation
The PH15 System is flexible enough to enable bespoke designs and different aesthetic preferences, traditional or contemporary.
When is the best time to contact PH15?
The earlier we start working together the more efficient the process. We are often approached when a project has passed planning, been fully detailed and is going out to tender. At this stage it is almost certainly too late for us to get involved unless you are prepared for some redesign and re-engineering to be done.
Engaging with us early avoids last minute changes and can save you from engaging outside consultants that you won’t need. This saves you money.
If you have selected an architect we can work with them or our own architects can design your house for you3
We can provide accurate costings at the planning stage and advise you whether mitigation will be required to avoid overheating. The cost of mitigation measures such as integrated external blinds is not included in the initial estimate. Once you have received planning permission we ask you for a 10% deposit so that the frame can be designed and engineered, the design stage PHPP completed and a fully costed schedule created. If attaining passivhaus is critical for planning the PHPP can be broken out as a seperate exercise pre-planning.
3Architectural design stages 1- 4 only. We do not provide project management services.
