Replacement dwelling , South Downs , Sussex

A replacement dwelling occupying a prominent position within the South Downs National Park, designed by Meloy Architecture + Design. The arrangement of the new house as three distinct wings resulted in a high form factor. A very careful balance had to be struck between the high heat loss north facing windows and the south facing windows to avoid overheating. This was achieved through a combination of fixed shading and external venetian blinds.
