Beltane Drive, London SW19

New build detached house designed by architect Tim Gledstone of Squire & Partners.

A deceptively complex design with gull wing roof and a triple height space at the rear of the building. The large glazed areas at the back combined with the lack of supporting floors meant that two steel ‘goal posts’ had to be introduced to provide stability. This lead to a complex sequence in the build to achieve the required airtightness. To assist, a whole sequence of 3D drawings were provided to guide the build step by step.

The house has been designed to meet the Passivhaus Plus standard though has not been certified. Currently generating more electricity that is consumed.
